Se habla español? Bilingual app, site aim to improve health of Spanish speakers

What its developers call the first bilingual mobile medical, health and wellness website, saludmóvil aims to serve Spanish-speaking populations in the U.S. by increasing access to information.

Developed by Joseph Mosquera, MD, and backed by Harvard Health Publications, saludmóvil provides content in both English and Spanish detailing medical conditions and advice. The site also covers topics such as food and nutrition, healthy cooking, fitness and sexual health.

"saludmóvil was born from the need of pertinent health information targeting the Hispanic demographic in America, which the health system and health news providers have neglected for far too long," said Mosquera. “This is partly due to the inability, or lack of effort, to offer online medical content and news in Spanish, targeting Hispanics. Our mission is to present them with easily accessible medical and wellness information using their handheld devices or personal computer. Hispanics want to be heard, and now they have the online medical support they so desperately need."

saludmóvi was specifically designed for Latinos with news available on smartphones, tablets and computers. The saludmóvil app gives users access to informational videos and access to other unique content.
