Philips debuts wearable monitor
Royal Philips Electronics has released IntelliVue MX40, a new wearable monitor for ambulatory patients and those in transit.
According to a statement from the company, the MX40 combines elements of its telemetry technology with its IntelliVue X2 patient monitor to offer continuous monitoring over a wider range, access to the IntelliVue Smart-hopping Network and a color touchscreen display that presents the patient’s name and vital information such as ECG and SpO2. The MX40 display is used to check patients’ ECG rhythms instead of calling a technician at the central station monitor.
The IntelliVue Information Center, which supports the monitor, provides surveillance, reporting, data storage and interfacing with the hospital’s EMR system, the company added.
