Philips aims to compete in wellness tracker market
Walking into most hospitals, you’ll be able to see CT scanners or MRI machines all made by Philips. The company is now looking to being healthcare technology closer to home with the release of four new products meant for everyday use, reports The Next Web.
Competing against well-known products like Fitbit and MyFitnessPal, Philips hopes to introduce four new products for people wanting to take hold of their own health. These new products include:
- A blood pressure monitor that measures diastolic and systolic blood pressure, heart rate and can be worn on both the wrist and arm.
- The weighing scale that measures weight and can calculate BMI body fat percentage.
- An in-ear thermometer that can determine body temperature within two seconds.
- Philips Health Watch, similar to wearable fitness trackers of today the watch can track activity, heart rate, and the sleep patterns.
