Parenting tech company Ovuline rebrands as Ovia
Women’s healthcare technology company Ovuline is rebranding itself as Ovia Health after receiving $10 million in funding.
Ovia, based in Boston, specializes in fertility, pregnancy and parenting apps. It has more than five million users and reports to have influenced about 40 percent of U.S. births, the company said in a statement.
"We changed our name to Ovia Health to reflect our broader commitment to women's and family health and our expertise in driving the innovations needed to shape the future of healthcare," said Paris Wallace, CEO and president of Ovia, in a statement. "The name is also inspired by the millions who've trusted the Ovia apps with the health of their families."
Ovia also works with employers and helps them recruit and retain employees with children.
The new funding will help them expand their maternity benefits to employers and insurers across the country, including Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts, Activision Blizzard, Optum and General Electric.
"The new funding recognizes the immense impact we are making on so many women and families," said founder and CTO Alex Baron. "Our users are delighted by our products, and employers and health insurers value our secure platform and data-driven approach. We're creating a new kind of family healthcare."
