Oracle updates master person index for data exchange
Oracle has bolstered its Healthcare Master Person Index (MPI) with support for Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise (IHE) clinical use case profiles that enable healthcare enterprises and health information exchanges (HIEs) to create, manage and share EHRs.
Healthcare MPI uses standards-based open architecture to provide a single point of reference for information about a patient or clinician within a healthcare organization or HIE, according to Oracle, of Redwood Shores, Calif. Healthcare MPI helps identify, merge and de-duplicate patient identities and demographic information from multiple systems to provide physicians with a unifed, trusted view of patient information.
With the latest enhancements, organizations can now deploy Healthcare MPI on Oracle's WebLogic Server for building and deploying Java applications, the company added.
