Obesity in U.S. contributes to health and cost concerns
The increasing number of obese people in the U.S. has led to health concerns and rising costs, Bloomberg reports.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has found 35.7 percent of adults in the U.S. were obese from 2009 to 2012, up from 31.1 percent a decade ago and 13.3 percent from 1960 to 1962. Further, an economics professor told Bloomberg that obesity raised medical care costs by $315.8 billion in 2010.
