Nokia Technologies and HUS/Helsinki University Hospital and University of Helsinki, Faculty of Medicine have partnered up to develop remote patient monitoring systems and outpatient care.

A first part of this collaboration includes the companies aiming to develop remote patient monitoring solutions. It is the first endeavor for Nokia Technologies in the healthcare industry.

The Department of Neurology at HUS and Meilahti Hospital's Neurological Outpatient Clinic in Helsinki offer more than 14,000 patients to aid in the input of information meant to improve the quality and effectiveness of Nokia Technologies' remote patient monitoring systems.

When Nokia Technologies acquired Withings, the company gained healthcare products including activity trackers (Withings Pulse and Activité), WiFi scale and health station (Body Cardio), wireless blood pressure monitoring and an advanced sleep system (Withings Aura).
