N.J. hospital selects Merge's perioperative applications
St. Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, N.J., has selected Merge Healthcare to provide perioperative applications.
St. Barnabas, a member of the six-hospital St. Barnabas Health System in New Jersey, will deploy the Merge Anesthesia Information Management System (AIMS) with medication management and patient portal modules for perioperative services, according to Merge, a Milwaukee-based healthcare IT company.
Merge AIMS, initiated via a presurgical testing and risk management tool, automates creation of an electronic record for the perioperative experience with a focus on safety and compliance with national quality reporting, according to Merge.
The system also includes an anesthesia drug management system, including a dispensing cart, for storage, access and barcode tracking of medications in each operating room.
