New smartphone app allows users to seamlessly pay medical bills

Global health insurance and healthcare management company DavidShield has created an easier way for patients to pay their medical bills with their smartphone.

The company, founded in 2000 and headquartered in Cyprus, has created an app that links an individual’s employment insurance card to his credit card to pay medical claims instantly, the company said in a statement. The app eliminates the need for PPO arrangements, claims for reimbursements, receipts and other inconvenient steps to pay for medical services. It is currently offered in more than 95 countries.

"We want to provide a stress-free solution to healthcare and provide our members with full autonomy in making decisions about their healthcare,” said Ilan Gat, CEO of DavidShield. “The last issue a patient wants to worry about is how expenses will be covered and if [a] preferred provider is in network.”

The app is compatible with Apple and Android devices and can be downloaded from Apple’s App Store and Google Play. It can be found as DavidShield’s Self Service App.
