Medhost's Care Clock keeps tabs on ED wait times

Medhost has launched Care Clock, software that allows hospitals to publish current emergency department (ED) wait times on their websites so patients can make more informed decisions about where to seek care for non-urgent problems.

Care Clock utilizes real-time information from the Medhost Emergency Department Information System (EDIS) without manual input required on the part of hospitals to keep the clock up-to-date, said the Addison, Texas-based company.

Care Clock is compatible with Medhost EDIS Version 3.4, as well as current-generation web browsers including Microsoft Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Apple Safari and Google Chrome, Medhost said.
