Man undergoes brain surgery on live television

A man from Ohio became the first person to undergo brain surgery on live American television, National Geographic reports.

The procedure, which was televised on the National Geographic Channel, delivered deep brain stimulation to the patient, who was suffering from Parkinson's disease. While everything went smoothly during the on-air surgery, it will be several weeks or months before it can ultimately be considered a success or failure.
