Landauer buys IZI Medical for $93M

Glenwood, Ill.-based medical physics services provider Landauer has acquired Baltimore-based IZI Medical Products for $93 million. IZI sells products related to radiology, radiation therapy and image guided surgery procedures, and was previously owned by Boston-based Riverside Partners.

Bill Saxelby, president and CEO of Landauer, said the acquisition will promote growth in U.S. and international markets by increasing product offerings in radiation. IZI products include consumables used with MRI, CT and mammography technologies, as well as reflective markers used in image guided surgery procedures.

Sales for the company over the nine-month period ending Sept. 30, totaled nearly $14 million.
