iPad enters the realm of hospital construction

The NoliWhite Group, a healthcare facility development company, has begun to incorporate Apple’s iPad on hospital and other healthcare-related construction sites.

NoliWhite's iPad initiative, Project Information Integration (PI2), is being piloted on the construction of John D. Archbold Memorial Hospital’s new North Tower in Thomasville, Ga., according to the Brentwood, Tenn.-based company.

PI2 will deploy iPads to craftsmen and supervisors on construction sites so they have a constant link to virtual plan rooms, NoliWhite Group stated.

Utilizing Nashville, Tenn.-based Lellyett & Rodgers' product data management document access system, the project development team can access all project documents in real time, according to the firm. On-site craftsmen and supervisors will have direct access to the most current design drawings, specifications, medical equipment information and other project information, the company added.
