Intel-GE Care Innovations Guide goes live

The Intel-GE Care Innovations Guide, which enables virtual care coordination on consumer devices, is now available for healthcare organizations.

The Care Innovations Guide leverages virtual care coordination capabilities to encourage patient behavior and lifestyle changes through an interactive relationship between clinicians and patients, according to Care Innovations, a Sacramento, Calif.-based joint venture of Intel and GE. The Care Innovations Guide received 510(k) market clearance from the FDA in March.

The Guide is available on consumer devices that use the Microsoft Windows 7 operating system and have a secure digital (SD) card slot and web camera. The Guide software will enable mobile devices to connect to specific models of wired and wireless medical peripheral devices, including blood pressure monitors, glucose meters, pulse oximeters, peak flow meters and weight scales, the company added.
