The HIMSS Interoperability Showcase

Once again, the conference will feature the HIMSS Interoperability Showcase where attendees can experience an ecosystem where all stakeholders can securely, effectively and efficiently contribute, share and analyze data.

More than 100 health IT systems and devices will demonstrate their clinical integration in a range of care settings.

This year, the 36,000 square-foot HIMSS Interoperability Showcase will show how seamless health information access and exchange and true continuity of care results in improved outcomes, more engaged consumers and achieving regulatory compliance.

The showcase is an interactive, vendor-neutral environment with vignettes designed for clinical, business and revenue cycle scenarios plus the HIMSS Innovation Center, ConCert by HIMSS testing and certification, and other national programs. Each vignette demonstrates a unique experience and perspective of the health continuum that displays interoperability up close in real-world customized settings, allowing you to explore each step of the journey.

The HIMSS Interoperability Showcase Theater also will feature more than 30 dynamic, interactive education sessions from industry leaders who have successfully implemented standards-based exchange.

Safety, Interoperability, and Usability—What’s My Role?

Andrew Gettinger, MD, ONC CMIO and Rebecca Freeman, ONC CNO, will discuss safety, interoperability and usability in health IT. This session will review key safety issues related to data blocking, system and data interoperability and usability for care team members. The speakers will share their experience in implementation and policy to review facility- and discipline-specific tasks that can support regulatory efforts to ease the health IT burden on bedside clinicians.
