HHS initiative to help newbies enter healthcare innovation field

A new federal government initiative aims to help smaller, new entrants to healthcare innovation overcome barriers in the competitive field.

The Department of Health & Human Services' IDEA Lab has introduced its Invent Health initiative, which "seeks to empower inventors both inside and outside government to create tools for better living and better clinical care," according to information on its website.

The initiative provides data and resources "to help spark interest in high-priority areas that would benefit from fresh perspectives. Many of these [small-scale] inventors lack access to the tools and information that would help them explore, test and take their idea to scale."

Invent Health is still in beta stage.
