FDA clears Siemens' MRI open-bore offerings

Siemens Healthcare has received FDA clearance for its MRI open-bore offerings, the Magnetom Aera 1.5 Tesla and Magnetom Skyra 3 Tesla, which are now available commercially in the U.S.

The systems offer Total imaging matrix (Tim) 4G radiofrequency technology, which eliminates analog cables for signal purity and high-radio frequency stability, stated the Malvern, Pa.-based company. Day optimizing throughput (Dot) technology is also integrated into the systems, for patient personalization, user guidance and exam automation, Siemens added.
