Eclipsys EHR gains conditional 2011 CCHIT certification
Eclipsys’ Sunrise Enterprise 5.5 inpatient, ambulatory and emergency care EHR combination has earned premarket conditional certification for 2011 by the Certification Commission for Health Information Technology (CCHIT).
The EHRs are also on track to attain more comprehensive CCHIT certification, according to Eclipsys of Atlanta.
In combination, these three products have attained premarket, conditional CCHIT Certified 2011 Enterprise certification, demonstrating integration of interoperability and workflow as defined by CCHIT, the company said.
In addition, the Sunrise Clinical Manager inpatient EHR preliminarily meets all 22 requirements for hospitals, and Sunrise Ambulatory Care preliminarily meets all 24 requirements for Eligible Providers published by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) in the Interim Final Rule related to the American Reinvestment and Recovery Act of 2009 (ARRA). Inspection information is available at http://www.cchit.org/products.
For the purpose of qualifying products for ARRA incentives, CCHIT anticipates, but has not yet received, accreditation by HHS.
The CCHIT premarket, conditionally certified status indicates that these three Eclipsys EHR suites have passed the required elements in the corresponding CCHIT 2011 Test Scripts and Security Test Scripts. When CCHIT verifies that capability is operational at two reference site locations for 45 days, the Eclipsys EHRs would be eligible for CCHIT certification status.
The products’ conditional CCHIT certification comes after Sunrise Enterprise 5.5’s activation at two client sites, Jefferson Regional Medical Center and Bronx-Lebanon Hospital Center, the company said.
