Could Microsoft Band help predict, prevent epilepsy?

Although not as widely used as wearables like the Fitbit or Apple Watch, the Microsoft Band has found an interesting niche in predicting and preventing seizures for those with epilepsy.

The band, when combined with the MyCareCentric app, allow physicians to study data collected from the patient to treat the onset of seizures at a much faster rate. Currently being tested by Ian Denley, MD, CEO of Shearwater Systems, the app tracks heart rate, movement, body temperature and sleep patterns sp Denley can evaluate exactly how these factors lead to a seizure. Although the app remains in early development; it has the potential to stop seizures in some patients.
