Centurion to provide correctional healthcare in New Mexico

Centurion Correctional Healthcare of New Mexico, a joint venture between Centene Corporation and MHM Services Inc., has been contracted by the State of New Mexico Corrections Department to provide correctional medical healthcare services and pharmacy services to more than 7,000 offenders throughout the state.

This agreement in New Mexico marks the seventh state-wide correctional contract for Centurion, other states include Florida, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Mississippi, Tennessee and Vermont. Services are expected to start being offered in June, and the contract is scheduled for a one-year term, with three additional one-year renewal options.

"Centurion looks forward to working with the dedicated professionals in the New Mexico Corrections Department. We recognize the importance of providing appropriate care while maintaining sound financial discipline on behalf of the State and its residents," said Steven H. Wheeler, CEO of Centurion.
