Canada signs FoneMed for disease management project

The Government of Canada, through the Atlantic Innovation Fund (AIF), has enlisted FoneMed in a research and development effort to deliver the next generation of remote disease management services.

The project, which involves the health IT company's FoneMed@Home Division, will develop remote monitoring systems, care transition support, health coaching and post-discharge follow-up care. The project, estimated to cost $3.9 million total, will receive approximately $2.4 million in support from the AIF, according to FoneMed.

FoneMed integrates information systems, medical devices and communications technologies to enable health professionals to provide remote, interactive patient care, the Colorado Springs, Colo.-based company added.
