AT&T taps Acuo for cloud-based imaging storage

AT&T and Acuo Technologies have formed an alliance to develop cloud-based medical imaging storage systems for healthcare providers and suppliers. Acuo of Bloomington, Minn., is the latest technology company to join the AT&T ForHealth lineup of mobile health, cloud-based and telehealth products.

Under the agreement, the Dallas, Texas-based AT&T plans to utilize Acuo’s DICOM Services Grid, combined with AT&T Synaptic storage-as-a-service, to create a cloud-based offering for storing, accessing and sharing medical images. The system will feature a vendor-neutral platform that supports varied PACS on an as-needed, pay-as-you-go model.
