AT&T opening first innovation center devoted to healthcare

Telecommunications company AT&T is expanding its reach into the healthcare sector by establishing the AT&T Foundry for Connected Health, set to open in Houston next month, according to a Fortune report.

The Dallas-based organization already has four innovation centers but this new one is the first dedicated to healthcare.

The AT&T Foundry for Connected Health will open at Texas Medical Center Innovation Institute of Houston and aims to support companies focused on digital health designed to connect patients and providers, according to the report.

The report also said AT&T will not invest directly in startups but provide its resources to facilitate company's efforts to bring solutions to market faster.
