AT&T names Nayyar as first CMIO

AT&T has appointed Geeta Nayyar, MD, MBA, as its first CMIO, where she will guide AT&T’s ForHealth strategy for evidence-based medicine, outcomes, disease management and wellness.

Nayyar also will translate healthcare issues and technology implications to physicians, patients, providers, policymakers and consumers. The ForHealth practice focuses on advanced IT to healthcare industry businesses, according to the company.

Nayyar received her medical doctorate and bachelor of science degrees from the University of Miami. She received her MBA from George Washington University, where she practices and teaches as an assistant clinical professor of medicine in the department of rheumatology.
