ASRT launches MR education program

The American Society of Radiologic Technologists (ASRT) launched its new MR education program, MR Basics: The Series, on March 14.

Composed of 10 interactive modules, MR Basics provides medical imaging professionals with a comprehensive overview of MR fundamentals. It covers a broad range of topics including the technical aspects of MR equipment and instrumentation, functionality of radiofrequency and gradient systems, parameters that affect image quality and identification of common pathologies.

In addition to the technical aspects, the series includes a module dedicated to MR safety.

Radiologic technologists can earn at least 1 Category A continuing education credit for each module and individuals can purchase modules separately to earn credits for each one. Participants who successfully complete all 10 modules can earn 13 continuing education credits.

The ASRT also offers a non-CE credit institutional version for educators and managers who would like to use the series as an educational tool. The package includes 10 modules, a test bank, an image library, transcripts and license for unlimited use in training or the classroom.

More information on the program can be found on the ASRT website.
