ARRS announces winners of Fuji-sponsored travel grants
Nelly Tan, MD, and Sean P. Zivin, MD, have been selected by the American Roentgen Ray Society (ARRS) as the recipients of resident travel grants, sponsored by Fujifilm Medical Systems.
The awards are based on academic and professional achievements in the field of radiology and will be formally recognized during a presentation held at the ARRS 2012 annual meeting, April 29–May 4 in Vancouver.
The two grants are each valued at $2,000 and fund the recipients' registration and courses during the ARRS annual meeting, as well as lodging and travel to and from the conference.
Nelly Tan, MD, is a resident at the David Geffen School of Medicine at University of California, Los Angeles. Her career plans include translating the findings of clinical research to patient care. Tan will present her abstract on evaluating MRI performance in selecting appropriate candidates for prostate cancer active surveillance at ARRS.
Sean P. Zivin, MD, is a second-year diagnostic radiology resident in the neuroradiology section at the University of Illinois in Chicago. Upon completion of his residency, he plans to pursue a career in academic radiology. Zivin will present an educational exhibit that he co-authored entitled “Updates of Imaging of Choledochal Cysts,” at ARRS.
