Apple acquires Silicon Valley healthcare startup
As Apple continues to explore business opportunities in healthcare, news broke this morning that the company has acquired Gliimpse, a personal health data startup in Silicon Valley, reports Fast Company.
Gliimpse, which was founded in 2013, has a platform that enables people to collect, personalize and share a picture of their health data.
The acquisition actually closed earlier this year, but Apple didn’t announce it initially. However, it has since confirmed the purchase.
The acquisitions will likely help Apple secure itself into the healthcare market and continue to gain traction in the sector.
