AgaMatrix, Sanofi partner to develop diabetes monitoring solutions

AgaMatrix, maker of blood glucose-monitoring products, and pharmaceutical company Sanofi-Aventis have entered into a partnership to co-develop, supply and commercialize diabetes management technologies.

Under the terms of agreement, the companies will partner to co-develop diabetes management solutions that will to be integrated into AgaMatrix's WaveSense technology, which uses "dynamic electrochemistry" to detect and correct for many errors caused by differences in blood samples and environmental conditions, said Salem, N.H.-based AgaMatrix.

Additionally, Sanofi will build on its global diabetes division by commercializing the integrated diabetic solutions and its insulin and delivery devices—Lantus, Apidra, SoloSTAR and ClikSTAR.
