Philips HeartNavigator cleared by FDA, gets first U.S. installation

Philips Healthcare is bringing its HeartNavigator interventional imaging tool to the U.S.

The device, which is used for procedural planning and image guidance for minimally invasive heart valve replacements, saw its first U.S. installation at Medical City Dallas Hospital, added North Andover, Mass.-based Philips.

The company introduced the technology in Europe earlier in 2011 and received FDA clearance to sell it stateside.
