Integra 510(k)-cleared to sell take-apart laparoscopy gear
Plainsboro, N.J.-based Integra has received the government’s blessing to sell a new line of easily disassembled laparoscopic instruments.
The company said it designed its Jarit Take-Apart products for simplified cleaning and visual inspection, adding that “long, narrow cannulas and intricately fitting components are a challenge to clean, yet are necessary for minimally invasive surgery.” Integra’s president said the take-apart pattern balances ease of cleaning with surgeon preference.
The publicly traded Integra makes equipment for most surgical modalities, including neuro and cardiac, and is active in orthopedics, spine and reconstructive markets.
