NEC Display Solution of America received FDA 510(k) clearance for its 21.3-inch Multi-Sync MD215MG medical diagnostic display for use in digital mammography.

The 5-megapixel display developed for PACS in hospitals and other care facilities is factory calibrated to the DICOM grayscale function and includes a front sensor to maintain brightness and adjust based on lighting conditions, the company said in a statement.

The display also features an 11.9-bit internal LUT with 256 shades of gray, DVI-D input and USB hub, medical certifications and clearance for mammography, as well as compliance with restriction on hazardous substances.
