Covidien expands voluntary recall of brain sensors
Following up on a November 2011 voluntary recall of nine lots of its BIS bilateral brain sensors, Covidien has expanded the lot count to 58.
In a Jan. 19 announcement, the company said the recalls owe to a modification that could result in inaccurate readings of electroencephalogram (EEG) information.
The company said no reports have come in on patient injuries related to the recalled products, and that the recall only affects lot numbers manufactured during particular time periods.
