ONC establishes database to build workgroup membership

The Office of the National Coordinator for Health IT (ONC) has established an online database to recruit participants for and publicize its health IT advisory committee workgroup.

Charged with providing recommendations to the national coordinator in a number of areas, including standards, implementation specifications and health information exchange policy, ONC workgroup members play an important role in the smooth implementation of the federal health IT strategic plan, according to an Oct. 10 statement published in the Federal Register.

Individuals interested in becoming actively involved with these efforts are invited to submit via the database their information for future consideration. As new workgroups are created and existing ones experience turnover, the ONC will turn to the database first to fill out each group’s membership.
