Industry coalition backs federal call for value-based care

 

An industry coalition representing some of the largest healthcare systems and insurers is supporting a Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services plan to accelerate the movement towards value-based care, reports The New York Times

The coalition includes, among others, Partners HealthCare; Ascension; Aetna; and Health Care Service Corporation. “We’re very much aligned and share a common goal here,” said Fran S. Soistman, an executive vice president for Aetna, who said the federal government’s announcement “bodes well” for the overall effort, according to the article.
