Bringing the 'entrepreneurial spirit' to American healthcare

Susannah Fox, the chief technology officer of the Department of Health and Human Services, recently shared her efforts and advice on encouraging innovation in the healthcare space.

As the entrepreneur-in-residence at the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation as well as serving as the associate director of the Internet Project at the Pew Research Center, Fox has been a leading innovative force for healthcare.gov.

In an interview for The Washington Post, Fox discussed those efforts to encourage innovation, including use of the IDEA Lab, an initiative for workers inside and outside of the department to explore unconventional solutions for problems in health and health care.
