Elevance Health partners with Adelade in value-based care push

Elevance Health, formerly known as Anthem, has teamed up with primary care physician enablement company Adelade to push the transition to value-based care.

The partnership aims to assist independent primary care physicians transition to value-based care by giving primary care providers in Elevance Health’s network to access Adelade’s suite of technology and local, in-person services. Elevance and Adelade hope to provide independent primary care providers with the enhanced tools, support, and resources they need to make the transition to value-based care.

“Healthcare reimbursement based on outcomes instead of quantity of services has been debated for decades. Too often, primary care providers want to make this transition but struggle,” Bryony Winn, president of health solutions at Elevance Health, said in a statement. “Partnering with Aledade empowers our independent care provider partners with the tools and insights they need to provide higher quality, more affordable care, while succeeding financially.”

Elevance Health is a health insurance company based in Indianapolis that serves more than 118 million people through a diverse portfolio of industry-leading medical, digital, pharmacy, behavioral, clinical, and complex care solutions. The company was previously known as Anthem until June 2022. The name change comes after a failed mega-merger between Anthem and Cigna that led to the health insurers fighting in court over the breakup––and billions in fees. 

Adelade helps independent practices, health centers and clinics deliver better care to their patients and thrive in value-based care through an accountable care organization. The company was founded in 2014.
