Disturbing new details emerge, but murder of LA doctor remains a mystery
A doctor who was fatally shot outside of his Los Angeles clinic was beaten by three men with baseball bats months prior, the Los Angeles Times reports, citing statements from a former employee and police.
The murder of Hamid Mirshojae, MD, 61, remains a mystery—but police said it’s not a random killing. Reportedly, he had expressed fear for his life after the initial assault. The motive for his murder, however, is still unknown.
Some of the details surrounding the fatal attack on Mirshojae are being kept under wraps as police continue their investigation. However, he was killed by a lone gunman on Aug. 23, sometime around 6:15 p.m., outside his urgent care clinic.
While police confirmed to reporters the prior assault with baseball bats happened months prior, they did not reveal details on possible suspects or specific timing. They also stopped short of saying the two incidents were related.
To date, there have been no arrests in either case and no charges have been filed. There were no witnesses, and video evidence shows Mirshojae was shot without hesitation.
