Healthgrades announces 2016 Best Hospital lists, shares new infographic

Healthgrades has released both its America’s 50 and 100 Best Hospitals list for 2016, as well as a new infographic that details the importance of researching hospitals before sickness makes finding one an urgent necessity.

The America’s 50 Best Hospitals list represents hospitals in the top 1 percent in the nation for “providing overall excellence across a broad spectrum of conditions and procedures consistently for at least six consecutive years.” The America’s 100 Best Hospitals list represents those in the top 2 percent in the nation for at least three straight years. The full list is available on the Healthgrades website.

“We are pleased to recognize those organizations that have achieved this distinction and urge all consumers to do their homework when selecting a hospital–especially as it relates to emergent conditions–since hospitals do not perform equally,” Evan Marks, Healthgrades chief strategy officer, said in a prepared statement.

The new Healthgrades infographic includes several statistics comparing the performance of America’s 100 Best Hospitals with other facilities not included on the list. It can be viewed here.
