Startup mines consumer data to offer drug-taking info and advice

Iodine, a new company slated to launch next week, will harness Google Consumer Surveys to provide an online service with tailored drug-taking information and advice, reports The New York Times.

With 100,000 surveys completed and more added daily, Iodine is building the largest survey ever taken of Americans’ drug experience, intended to help consumers and perhaps guide policy, according to its founders Thomas Goetz, formerly of Wired magazine, and Google engineer Matt Mohebbi.
