Partners HealthCare posts $22M loss

Partners HealthCare lost money on operations for the first time since 1999 due to financial losses from its insurance arm, reports The Boston Globe

Partners, Massachusetts' largest nonprofit health system, lost $22 million in the fiscal year that ended Sept. 30. That’s a reversal from a profit of $158 million the previous year. The dramatic turn-around was attributed to $110 million in losses by Neighborhood Health Plan, an insurer owned by Partners, according to the article.
