NCI grants Harris $37M contract for clinical data management

Harris, an International communications and IT company based in Melbourne, Fla., has been awarded a $37 million contract by the National Cancer Institute’s Center for Cancer Research (NCI CCR), in which Harris will manage clinical data for the NCI’s intramural clinical trials program.

Under the contract, which includes one year and four one-year options, Harris will continue to provide increased data volume capacity and data quality within funding expectations under previous contracts. Specific tasks include: clinical data management, quality assurance and control, clinical audit and monitoring of clinical trials for safety and compliance, and maintenance and enhancements to research databases and systems.

The Harris team includes subcontractor Asclepius Solutions of Kensington, Md., and is comprised of medical doctors, research professionals and IT specialists. The contract was awarded under the National Institutes of Health’s CIO-SP2i government acquisition contract vehicle.
