Nashville Healthcare IT companies attracting venture capitalists

Nashville healthcare IT companies are booming this year and quickly becoming the most popular sector of healthcare in the city among venture capitalists, according to new research.

A study by the Nashville Health Care Council and the Nashville Capital Network found that between 2005 and 2015, venture capitalists gave $940 million to emerging Nashville healthcare companies, many of them in the IT sector.

Venture capital funding for healthcare IT companies grew to $62.5 million in 2014, making it the largest category of healthcare companies in Nashville that people are investing in.
