With 46 million Americans using mobile fitness and health apps and over half of providers serving Medicare or Medicaid patients using electronic health records (EHRs), the healthcare industry is trying its best to keep up with the technological advances. But healthcare systems are being attacked by hackers, and data remains fragmented among insurers, providers, health record companies, government agencies and researchers.
