Hospital costs from Orlando nightclub shooting could top $1 million

Based on the average costs incurred by gunshot victims, the 56 people brought to hospitals after being injured in the shooting at the Pulse nightclub in Orlando, Florida, could rack up a total of $1 million in medical bills, reported Kaiser Health News.

KHN spoke to one uninsured man who was grazed by a bullet in the shooting. Before accounting for the costs of imaging and specialists, he said his outstanding bill from the Orlando Regional Medical Center emergency department is $20,000.
