Could Apple and Google be the next Big Pharma?

Technology companies like Apple and Google are moving away from their original roots to grow into the realm of healthcare. Their innovative devices have opened doors for improved care for both providers and patients of the healthcare industry and have some believing they might be the next Big Pharma.

The new roster includes Apple’s Apple Watch, recently reported to be fitted with a dermal sensor for measuring blood glucose, Google’s clinical data collecting wearable and glucose monitoring contact lens. These innovations, many focusing on the management of diabetes, have pushed the need for medications down and advanced chronic care into the future.
