CMS unveils attestation calculator
Proivders and hospitals can gauge their Medicare EHR Incentive Program progress using the Meaningful Use Attestation Calculator, a resource for the Medicare EHR Incentive Program offered by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).
The tool helps Medicare eligible providers, eligible hospitals and critical access hospitals determine if they have met all of the objectives and their associated measures for meaningful use prior to completing attestation for the Medicare EHR Incentive Program, CMS stated.
When core and menu measure meaningful use data are entered, the calculator will indicate whether a provider has met the necessary criteria for these objectives. Users can then print a copy of the measures that have been entered, and whether they have passed or failed each specific measure. The calculator will indicate in red the measures for which the input values did not meet the required thresholds, and will mark them as "failed."
The calculator does not assess clinical quality measures and is not intended to be used as an actual attestation document, CMS warned. Click here to access the calculator.
