Aviacode to deliver coding services to NextGen customers

NextGen Healthcare Information Systems has partnered with Aviacode, a Salt Lake City developer of technology-enabled medical coding services, to provide cloud-delivered medical coding services to NextGen's clients.

Under this agreement,Horsham, Pa.-based NextGen clients can leverage Aviacode’s ProCoder, a web-based coding system, along with Aviacode’s network of specialty-specific certified coders to assist with medical coding.

NextGen also recently announced partnerships with Surescripts and Microsoft.

The recall comes after approximately 3% of patients treated with the device during the early stages of its U.S. rollout experienced a stroke or transient ischemic attack following surgery. The expected stroke rate is closer to 1%, the FDA explained.
