athenahealth wants to be the Amazon of healthcare

We live in the age of technology where even babies use tablets, but it seems odd that while babies can use technology with ease our doctors are confounded by the internet. athenahealth hopes to change that by modeling their own “information problem” solution after top technology companies like Amazon.

“We’re going to do the same thing [as Jeff Bezos, CEO of Amazon],” Bush said, adding that his Massachusetts-based company has taken "a chunk of" the internet and made it secure enough to appeal to mainstream doctors.
