Ambient Clinical Analytics Technology Takes Home First Place for the University of Minnesota’s Carlson School of Management in Health Case Competition

ROCHESTER, MN (July 15th, 2014) - Ambient Clinical Analytics, Inc., the provider of powerful bedside real-time critical decision support tools for ICU, Operating Room and Emergency Departments, was precisely chosen by the University of Minnesota’s Carlson School of Management to be the focus of their case study in the annual Business School Alliance for Health Management competition. The Carlson School earned first place by showcasing the technology from AmbientClinical Analytics.

The topic for this year's competition was "Creating Real Value from Health Care Information". Each team was directed to research and prepare a case study on an entrepreneurial activity that utilizes existing or proposed health care information technology and/or analytic approaches to create sustainable, measureable increases in value. “Ambient was chosen because the Carlson team believed in the technology and the positiveoutcomes it has already produced for patients and health care providers” said Bryana Mayer, Carlson School MBA student. “We thought the executive team combining Ambient Clinical Analytics and Mayo Clinic Ventures was very impressive. They have a strong track record in medicine, medical products, and healthcare IT start-ups making Ambient Clinical the perfect company to study.”

“It was an honor to be chosen by the Carlson School MBA students who had a genuine interest in showcasing how our technology truly makes a positive difference for patients and providers” said Al Berning, CEO of Ambient Clinical Analytics. “The fact that their case study took first place over many other schools confirms that our technology standouts from the rest and that the students did an excellent job representing Ambient Clinical Analytics.”

The Carlson School was awarded $10,000 for their win, which will help students with tuition finances. Among the competitors were The Haas School of Business, Duke University's Fuqua School of Business, and HarvardBusiness School.
