Yuma welcomes new CMIO
Yuma Regional Medical Center (YRMC) welcomes Robert D. Budman, MD, MBA, as CMIO. In this role, he will provide physician leadership in the optimization of YRMCCare, Yuma Regional’s EHR.
“I am pleased that Dr. Budman has joined our leadership team,” said Gene Shaw, VP of IT at the Zuma, Ariz.-based YRMC. “His knowledge and understanding of how to utilize technology, such as the EHR, to increase patient safety and quality will serve as a tremendous asset to our hospital and community.”
Budman most recently served as the director of clinical content at Catholic Health East in Newtown Square, Pa., where he improved patient care by creating new electronic communication methods based on the most current national standards and by streamlining care standards through the implementation of hundreds of new evidence-based order sets.
Budman completed his medical doctorate at the Medical University of South Carolina and holds an MBA in healthcare management as well as a certificate in healthcare informatics from the University of Phoenix.
One of Budman’s goals as CMIO is to optimize the use of YRMCCare to better meet the growing needs of the community, by improving physicians’ use of EHRs.
